StanceNation Florida 2018

Words & Photos by John Krueger

May marked our now annual return to West Palm Beach, Florida, for the StanceNation Florida show.  It also marked my 1-year anniversary traveling with the StanceNation crew putting on these shows.  If you asked me 2 years ago if I'd be doing that, I'd probably have told you that you were high on something.  I guess the saying, "hard work pays off," rings somewhat true.

Between Atlanta and Florida, we did have a show in NorCal, but we were so busy and the show was so packed that I didn't have time to really shoot any pictures.  NorCal was a ton of fun as I've never been to that part of California before, and the cars that showed up really set the bar for the rest of the year to follow.  Almost as if Florida knew, the car community stepped up to the plate for our second show in the sunshine state.

Despite the rain that was present all weekend, the cars and supporters showed up in full force, and we packed the West Palm Beach convention center with some of the finest cars in the region.  Familiar faces and cars were present, as well as new ones that made lasting impressions.

Even though the shows are long for us, I don't think I'll ever get tired of judging.  It's always great getting to see cars from all  around the country up close.  You really do get to see certain trends and styles that each region puts more effort into when you go back and compare all the shows.

I didn't get to take too many photos for this stop unfortunately.  I usually save photos for the end of the show when we're doing the awards as I'm free to run around at that point.  Now that I have a season under me, I'm trying to better manage my time judging so I can still do a thorough job, and still walk the show and take photos.  Towards the end of this show though, I had a really bad headache, so I took a break to lay down.  Hope you enjoy the photos I did manage to get though.  In a month, I'll be down in Houston for SNTX, so stay tuned for that, and come out if you're in the area!

p.s.  I'd like to thank Charlton and Leni Ochoa for hosting me and my boyfriend for a week while we visited.  It's always a blast hanging out with your family!
